Our Vision:

Amidst a world rife with uncertainties, social divides, and environmental challenges, an innovative concept emerges, grounded in the entrepreneurial spirit of community building and craftsmanship. This concept envisions a venue that stands as a beacon of hope and innovation—a lighthouse project that not only serves as a field of experimentation for post-growth economic theories but also bridges social differences through novel living, working, and housing solutions. Conceived with a profound commitment to sustainable and internationally networked regional economic activities, this unique space is generously initiated by donating one's only property to a steward-owned company, ensuring its benefits for everyone involved for at least a century. From its inception, the venue is designed to accommodate operational staff and welcome guests, ranging from 8 in single rooms to 20 in shared accommodations, fostering a culture of genuine cooperation and profitable management. This space is not just a place but a movement towards a more inclusive, sustainable future.
This venue also serves as a dynamic launchpad and breeding ground for hardware and tech startups, providing a collaborative space where teams can innovate, prototype, and accelerate their journey from concept to market.

The Contradictive Environment of Dear-Hill:

In an era where societal norms and economic models are constantly evolving, we find ourselves navigating through a maze of contradictions that reflect the complex nature of modern life.

Firstly, the contradiction between high society and social living encapsulates the tension between the pursuit of exclusivity and the desire for a communal, inclusive existence. While high society often focuses on elitism and luxury, social living promotes connectedness, sharing, and egalitarian values, highlighting the divide between individual prestige and collective well-being.

Secondly, the pursuit of world-class standards versus the appreciation for a down-to-earth lifestyle presents a dichotomy between the drive for excellence and the simplicity of living. The former emphasizes global competitiveness, innovation, and perfection, while the latter advocates for a return to basics, sustainability, and a focus on life's simple pleasures, challenging us to balance ambition with humility.

Thirdly, the concept of scalable startups versus the post-growth economy highlights the conflict between growth-oriented entrepreneurship and the emerging recognition of the limitations of continuous economic expansion. Scalable startups aim for rapid growth and global impact, whereas the post-growth economy suggests a shift towards sustainability, localism, and economic models that prioritize environmental and social well-being over perpetual growth.

Fourthly, the idea of owning things versus letting go to community reflects the tension between personal ownership and communal sharing. In an age of materialism, the notion of personal possession is often a status symbol, yet there's a growing movement towards sharing resources within communities, emphasizing access over ownership, and fostering a sense of communal responsibility.

Lastly, the contradiction between high achievers and universal basic income (UBI) examines the relationship between individual success and societal support systems. High achievers often epitomize the meritocratic ideal of success through hard work and talent. In contrast, UBI represents a paradigm shift towards providing a safety net for all, irrespective of individual achievement, raising questions about motivation, equity, and the redistribution of wealth in a society that values achievement.

These contradictions challenge us to reflect on our values and the kind of society we wish to create, encouraging a dialogue that is crucial for the evolution of our global community.
